Process

How it works

From checking a rate to money in your account.

The four steps

  1. 1

    Tell us the basics

Amount, purpose, and a few details about your income. It takes about three minutes and does not require any documents yet.

  2. 2

    See your offers

We run a soft credit check, which does not affect your credit score, and show you the rates and terms you may qualify for.

  3. 3

    Choose and verify

Pick the offer that fits, then confirm your identity and income. This step uses a hard credit check and is the point where a final decision is made.

  4. 4

    Get funded

Sign your loan agreement and funds are typically deposited to your bank account within one to two business days.

What you'll need

  • A government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport.
  • Proof of income: recent pay stubs, bank statements, or tax documents if you're self-employed.
  • Your Social Security number, for the credit check.
  • An active checking account in your name, for deposit and repayment.

Never send these documents by email or an unsecured form. Verification happens inside your account after you log in, over an encrypted connection.

Process FAQ

Does checking my rate hurt my credit?

No. Checking offers uses a soft inquiry, which does not change your score. A hard inquiry happens only once you accept an offer and move to verification.

What if I'm not approved?

We'll tell you why, where the law requires it, and you're welcome to reapply later if your situation changes.

Can I change my loan amount after I start?

Yes, you can adjust the amount before you accept a final offer. Once you've signed, changes require a new agreement.

How do I make payments?

Payments are automatically withdrawn from the bank account you provide, on the schedule in your loan agreement. You can also pay early at any time with no penalty.
